Keeping It Simple!
There’s always so much talked about in fashion of classic looks and one such classic look is the wearing of black and white or monochrome, as it’s known.
Whenever I have to be involved in a business situation I prefer to wear a so-called classic look, it gives me further confidence.
I really couldn’t say whether it inspires confidence in the people I’m meeting with or whether it’s just me that feels this way, but it’s what I’ve always tended to do.
I teamed a zip fronted black and white printed jacket with a black fitted bandage style skirt for a medical appointment in which I wanted to make certain I was being taken seriously.
A Fitted Silhouette!!
There are often questions about whether women of a certain age or shape should wear “fitted clothing”.
I think it’s clear where my thoughts fall in regard to this question because you’ve seen me in this blog wearing clothing that fits closely and reveals my curves.
It’s probably been a while since I’ve written my view that people – all genders – should wear whatever they like based on their own style needs not on size, age, gender or whatever …
Having said that I generally attempt to wear feminine clothing that I think is flattering to my shape and size – I pretty much ignore the whole age thing …
Putting Our Own Stamp On Style!
I’ve seen this jacket styled by others – and I’ve worn it differently myself – I decided to zip it down from the top and zip it up from the bottom and add a wider belt with a cute round buckle to give a bit more of an hourglass silhouette in the outfit I wore last week.
I added striped pointy toe heels, which are said to give a lengthened appearance – but again it’s a matter of the look you’re going for or the choice you want to make from your own wardrobe, as you can see from the pic above where I’ve worn round toed shoes …
I look for joy and inspiration in my life at every turn, because I’ve learnt that life is very short and that we can be sent curve balls that aren’t always easy to manage.
I wear what I love and revel in it and I don’t worry about so-called fashion rules or what anyone says or thinks about me – unless they’re paying my way, looking after my family, cleaning my house or cooking my food – and that would be no one, lol!
So live a little and wear that tight dress, crazy style, beautiful colour and whatever else takes your fancy because you only live once!
Doing It Differently..
I don’t usually give style advice on this blog – I just write about my own outfit, but today I’ve done things a bit differently because I see so much written about this I really wanted to add my thoughts to the mix!
Thank you for joining me in my little corner of the web and have a great week!
