Let the Sun Shine In!!
So here in the Southern Hemisphere spring is rapidly marching towards us demanding our attention for good or ill.
The day was a bit on the chilly side and we even had some clouds although alas still no rain .. but that’s another story!
Every few weeks I get some reiki, crystal and chakra balancing and healing done locally and my healer, Tina from @hraanispirit has a beautiful shop where she sells crystals, giftware, salts and scrubs and select clothing.
I could not resist the lure of this pretty and versatile cardigan/jacket.
The teal colour works so well with my skin tone and hair and it’s considered a spiritual colour, which can’t hurt, and I’m happy to take all the help I can get!!
Wearing Sleeves … 🤔
I’ve said before that I prefer to wear sleeves – in this case because it was still too cold -but also because I feel self-conscious of the swelling from the lymphnode removal I had with the mastectomy of the left breast last year.
The “Sleeves” were gifted to me by @evaladiesboutique in Melbourne because she always loves my posts on Instagram, and I’m very grateful and happy to be wearing them:
I think they add a little bit of extra oomph to this otherwise simple black sleeveless knit dress, plus they were nice and cosy to wear!
They’re a soft lace knit so will be perfect for going into the warmer months.
Little Teal Riding Hood!
Doesn’t have quite the same ring to it but nevertheless this cute cardi is versatile:
I like that it can be worn open, open with the little hood up, closed with a nice full and decorative collar or closed with a hood.
It looks quite stunning in each of these ways.
How gorgeous is the detailed print around the hem and collar? It really is a sweet find!!
I considered wearing the belt over the top which would give the outfit a chic 80’s vibe, but as I thought I’d be taking the cardigan on and off, I opted to leave the belt on the inside.
The pictures don’t show the teal tights layered with a ladder fishnets over the top so I’ve included a separate pic of them:
(The pics do show all the dust kicked up in the background from some slashing being done in preparation for bushfire season, an indication of just how terribly dry it is here … no surprise Australia is the hottest and driest continent on the planet!!)
I also wore my boho head band which happened to share many of the colours of the cardi, so that worked very well!
My suede booties, sunnies and little silver hearts and roses necklace completed the look.
Thank you for joining me in my little corner of the web!
I would love to know your thoughts on sleeves, wearing colour or healing in the comments below and you can see more of my daily dressing on my Instagram donnadoesdresses…
