BEAUTIFUL NEUTRAL KNIT

I love this chic fitted ribbed-style knit dress that works so well for both work and play.
The button-down feature allows you to wear it buttoned up for a work context or it can be kept open for after hours.

Versatility Is The Way To Go!
As with the other outfits I’ve featured on here in the past, there’s any number of ways that you can get wear out of all of the individual garments in your wardrobe.
The tan boots and the little brown leather bag, together with the cropped faux suede jacket, gives this an edgy vibe which is always an aesthetic I’m attracted to!
In fact, I’ve started a YouTube channel called Donna Walmsley, Work Your Wardrobe https://youtu.be/ggsPUd_4fLI that has practical videos that cover exactly this issue.
Now in my video I show this same dress paired with black Chelsea boots and a moto jacket and also glammed up for an evening outfit! So head over and take a look!

Black Knit – puffed sleeve detail ..

Now this little number is quite different from the first dress pictured because it’s quite roomy and a generally fuller cut, made from a soft furry knit that isn’t scratchy at all, full puffed bishop sleeves and a mock crew neck.
I added the white shirt underneath for a work context, patterned tights and Chelsea boots, a wide belt to cinch in the waist and a beret. I was really happy with how this look worked.
The full puffed bishop sleeve is very ontrend, and I love it because I have lymphodoema from breast cancer surgery three years ago, and it ensures this dress is very comfortable – doubly so with the Chelsea boots which was perfect for a full day on my feet, doing lots of walking and standing.

Go! Go! Accessories!
Over the years I’ve collected my share of accessories: leather gloves, berets/hats, interesting boots, patterned tights and different width and buckled belts – and I make sure I wear them as often as I can. Unfortunately (or not) in Australia we have a very short winter so I try to get those things in when I can!
In this outfit I’ve incorporated my beret, my cool Chelsea boots, black leather gloves and patterned tights with a retro 1950’s style coat that has loose three quarter dolman sleeves to comfortably fit the thick bishop style sleeves.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my discussion of neutral knit dresses and that you will pop over and visit me on YouTube! https://youtu.be/ggsPUd_4fLI
As always I thank you for visiting with me in my little corner of the web and wish you all the best for a great September!

September 10, 2021 at 11:29 amSuch chic, wonderfully cozy, and entirely lovely looks. You are, bar none, the queen of contemporary knit dress styling in my books. They’re not a garment I sport often myself (as I don’t feel most of them do me any favours at all, lol!), but gosh, do I enjoy seeing others rock them and being inspired to translate those looks into some of my own spring and summer ensembles.
Sunny hugs & the very happiest of September wishes from my heart to yours, dearest Donna.

I hope you and Tony have been well – we are in lockdown here interminably, it seems .. but it’s great to have some spring light in our lives!
Enjoy your favourite time of year and stay safe!
