Pretty Perfection and Denim made Feminine…
This pretty, sheer, spotted blouse was a bit of an indulgence.
I’m usually fairly thrifty in how I spend my money on my clothing, and in fact both the jeans and denim skirt featured here today have been in my wardrobe for some years, but I felt styling them with this white confectionary breathed new life into them.
To be honest I need all the new life I can get as I’ve been recovering from a fairly serious bout of pneumonia that has really taken it out of me after losing one of our dear little cats, Odin, a mini stroke, two breast cancer reconstruction surgeries and the dreaded C-19 pandemic hitting the world… roll on 2021, I say!

In other news, we’ve had our first harvest of honey for our little business, Purple Sting.
We’ve started to make inroads into organising the direction of our little cottage industry of honey, wax goods, leather-wear such as hats, bags, belts and so on and other little things also, so stay tuned to see where we go next with all of that!
In all honesty, the versatility of this blouse really wasn’t on my mind when I rewarded myself with it but when I got it home I decided I had to make it work in my real life, which has become far more casual and relaxed in recent years.
Denim then presented itself as the obvious pairing.
In one case, some dark denim 1940’s style jeans with red pops I’ve had for going on ten years, and in the other, a fitted faded paper-bag style denim skirt that has featured here before from the year before last.
Of course, I’m seeing the blouse with other options too…

The different types of denim completely change the look of the blouse but so does the way the blouse has been worn – in one with a black bodysuit under it for when we went out for dinner to The German Club for great schnitzel and sausage and the other with a cream bodysuit for a thrilling visit to the Doctor ….
FUN FACT: My grandfather was German on my father’s side so I grew up with a lot of that culture as well as the Scottish culture from my mother’s side but the Aussie culture of long, hot summers, gorgeous blue skies, beautiful beaches, open spaces and a laid back lifestyle was embraced by both sides…
I think the way I tied the bows also changed the look of the outfit – one shorter to the side and one long in front.
And truly – these sleeves!! So good when you have lymphodoema!

Thank you for joining me in my little corner of the web and I want you to know how much I appreciate your support, kindness and comments … for some reason I can’t get involved in linkups – something to do with my password not working, which is annoying but know I will be catching up on your blogs in due course.
And I’d love to know which combo you preferred in this puffy shirt!!

December 5, 2020 at 3:43 pmSweet Donna, I am incredibly sorry that you’ve been duking it out with pneumonia lately. Amidst a year that has already been a constant battleground, I’m sure that was all the more challenging, stressful and unpleasant. It is my fervent hope you never face this awful respiratory condition again and that soother sailing soon comes your way on the health front.

PS: Huge congrats on your first honey harvest. Sooo exciting!

December 12, 2020 at 8:22 pmYess!! So agree – not being able to breathe is a real pain!! A few people around here are having similar problems and we feel it’s coming out of the bushfires and that we’ve been affected. It’s been a rough ten years or so but I feel some of the battles I’ve been facing will be turning in my favour!
Have a great weekend, Autumn, and thank you as always for your kindness and support!! 🧚♀️❤️🐝
