Boyfriend Or Classic? Horses for Courses

I’ve always felt at home wearing a blazer.
When I worked I loved my nice pants and skirt suits with their tailored blazers to get me through the day.
I’m really glad that the look has worked it’s way into current daily dressing and the variety of choice in cut, colour and print make blazers a versatile and worthwhile addition to any wardrobe.
Check It Out!
I love a tartan, and so this grey and white check was a good choice for me.

I’m wearing it with some mid-wash, mid-rise girlfriend jeans and a cowl neck top.
I was going for a more dressy-casual look as I had an appointment with the accountant but just didn’t feel like wearing one of my more fitted dresses… lately, since little Odin passed away, I just haven’t felt like worrying with too much of anything.
On the subject of Odin and his passing away I just want to thank you for your kind and heartfelt sympathy and comments. Those of us who are animal people understand the huge connection we have with our beloved pets.

I liked these old t-bar high heels with the outfit because I always prefer a bit of height – I thought I wouldn’t be walking that far but in fact it turned out the opposite… oh well all’s well that ends well!
It was a rainy day, for a change, so I took the pics inside the apartment, not ideal but it gives you the idea.
The blazer is a simple, single breast, single button job which works better for my petite but solid frame to not swamp me. I love the way it cuts in at my waist because that’s my best feature.
Boyfriend Blazer or Bust!
Olive is a really good neutral on me and I’m over black so when I saw this boyfriend blazer in this colour I decided it would be great for me – I thought it would pair well with blue jeans, black jeans, olive jeans and a whole lot of other options..
The boyfriend blazer is less fitted and slightly longer than the classic and arguably less flattering but it’s fun, comfortable and trendy. I have a similar one in a salmon colour, which I’ve had for going on for 10 years and I still get plenty of wear from it so I felt it was a good investment.

Dark wash skinny jeans and an olive tank top along with some animal print accessories was my choice for a shopping trip out with my daughter, who had come down from Sydney for a couple of days to help me in my garden, (you can see the mess on the ground behind me which we cleaned up after we’d been shopping!) and to race me down to the beach for my first swims of the season… she was a real balm for my sad soul!

Thank you so much for visiting me in my little corner of the web and I’d love to hear your thoughts on blazers or beaches or whatever .. and wherever you are in the world right now I hope you stay happy and safe!

November 13, 2020 at 12:12 pmLikewise completely (re: feeling wonderful at home in a blazer). While I do have to be extra careful with proportion and fit, given that I’m fairly short/petite and have narrow shoulders, when I find a winner, I tend to wear it until it’s threadbare – and then some. 😄 Over the years, I’ve had especially good luck with blazers and skirt suits from the 1940s – very early 1960s, as well as those with some stretch to them from various decades both past and present. Ooohh, and I don’t know if I’ve ever met a velvet blazer that I didn’t melt faster than ice cream over (swoon!).
Sunny hugs & cheerful weekend wishes, my sweet friend!

November 14, 2020 at 8:29 pmI agree with so much of what you’ve said here, Autumn – especially the velvet blazers but I have the opposite issue of being broad in the shoulders but I’ve never let that stop me getting into them! I think that’s why I loved living through the eighties with the fab suits and adore all the 1940’s looks also!
You have a great new moon weekend too!!
Setting positive intentions!
