Bright Blue – with a touch of red – On A Winter’s Day!!
On the one hand we’re pretty lucky here in this part of the south east coast of Australia because even in winter the weather is fairly pleasant with mostly sunny days and mild temperatures – on the other hand this has its disadvantages as water is always in short supply, but then you can’t have everything!!
I felt great wearing this eighties vintage, pre-loved two-piece skirt and top set for lunch on a winter’s day recently.

I truly love a combo of red and cobalt and the print in this outfit I found to be vibrant and fun, especially when paired with the red suede booties, the red fishnets, the red sunnies and the wide red belt. My very old longer black leather blazer-style jacket finished the look!
I tend to play with my clothes so even though these two pieces were a couple of sizes too big, with some hemming and tucking and folding and pinning I’m able to make them work for me!! I was very happy with the result as another pre-loved find turns to gold!!

When Only Black Will Do!!
I find times in my life when only black will do for giving me the confidence and oomph I want for a particular meeting or event.

I make no secret of the fact that I wear my clothes for years – I’ve given most of my business/corporate dresses and suits away to my daughter-in-law but have hung on to a handful that always make me feel comfortable and confident and this Fever London dress definitely fits that bill with the diagonal neckline, ruching around the waistline and three quarter sleeves, it’s a real winner!

The crazy tights, bee brooch, suede shoe booties, Joseph Ribkoff military jacket, leather gloves and tortoiseshell sunnies finished the look.

It’s funny because I feel comfortable in both looks – colourful and not, loose and breezy and fitted and sleek but it’s just a matter of what suits the activities of the day.
What’s your preference? Colour or black? Roomy or fitted? Old or new? I’d really love to hear…
Thank you for joining me in my little corner of the web!

July 31, 2020 at 7:03 amYess!! You are so right, Nancy! I used to wear black a lot in my work but then moved away from it towards colour … I must say that when I wear all black here is definitely as sense of drama and finesse!! Lol … good to mix it up a bit I suppose which is why I find my style being so eclectic!! Have a great weekend and thank you for your lovely comment!

August 27, 2020 at 9:29 amSuch chic, fabulous looks!
Black (and grey – oh, how I adore grey!) with subtle splashes of colour is has been my palette of choice in recent years. I adore and appreciate colour dearly, but don’t find myself called to sport it in great abundance *most* of the time at present. That said, I’m all for going with the flow and my mood, so if I woke up tomorrow and felt the desire to rock vibrant hues, I’d do so without a moment of hesitation. 🙂
