Styling my 70’s Vintage Blouses! πŸ₯°πŸ€—πŸ’•

June 21, 2020
Same skirt, two blouses…

Double or Nothing!

Instagram has kept my shopping hand in and one of my favourite shops of pre-loved goodies had these two pretties available for half-price and so grab them I did!

They both have the distinguishing 70’s feature of a fabulous large pointy collar, with one sporting a large, vibrant, floral print and the other a little more subtle.

I wanted to see how they could be styled differently with the same skirt – just a bit of fun really – and I was happy with the two very different applications. I’d like to know your preference!

Shaping Up!

I wanted the focal point in both outfits to be the waist because I’ve shifted a couple of the COVID kilos, so opted for a wide red belt in one and a black belt in the other.

Booties are my favourite shoe as we move through winter so it was red and black again, along with black tights and a short leather jacket with the red touches and longer black jacket with the black …

I preferred one of the blouses buttoned right up and the other opened a touch – sometimes it’s just nice to not be so buttoned up!! I added my red leather gloves and red sunnies to my red outfit and I was good to go!!

Second-hand at first!

I know that most people on social media like to show the new things they’ve bought but I just delight in digging through my wardrobe to wear things I’ve had for years and picking up the occasional pre-loved new thing to style in an appealing and attractive way! I just hate the idea of creating more landfill with β€œfast-fashion” and not making the best use of the lovely things I already have hanging in my wardrobe.

Also what do you think of this guy? When we have people come and stay with us we make scarecrows from a cache of cute outfits I keep, and this was our first creation from some years ago … I found this a funny capture!

Meet Russell (Scare) Crow … when people visit we make scarecrows

Thank you for joining me in my little corner of the web and I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

Russell is awesome! I’ve always been drawn to scarecrows and images/items depicting them. Two years ago, in 2018, I finally had a chance to dress up as a scarecrow for Halloween for the first time ever. It was an absolute blast and one of my fave costumes to date.

Both of these outfits are terrific! Loving red + gloves + double buckle belts, the first one is my personal fave, but I can’t stress how awesome they both are. Your way with accessorizing is second to none, my dear friend!

Oh my!! I would love to see your costume as a scarecrow, Autumn!! We don’t really do much of a Halloween here as such but I think it would make the perfect outfit!!
I love double buckle belts and belts with detail in general and I’m glad you do too! I like to see if I can wear things a number of different ways and thank you for acknowledging that, Autumn!

Enjoy the rest of your week!!

You always have the best style!
You reminded me of why I loved shopping vintage – its hard to find another piece plus the pieces are also so unique.
You have your own distinctive style and you always pull it off so graciously!
    Definitely an inspiration.

Your beautiful comment means the world to me – that’s the thing isn’t it, we don’t want to always want to wear a β€œuniform” like everyone else and just fit in!! My style is very eclectic and I don’t take it or myself too seriously but just love to have fun with fashion!! πŸ§šβ€β™€οΈβ€οΈπŸ
