Casual Brights!! Going Mustard For Autumn…

April 9, 2020

Locked In With A Lockdown!

The Commonwealth and State governments here in Australia have been pretty strict about locking us down because of COVID-19 and at the time of writing we have 6000 who have tested positive with 50 deaths for a total population of 25 million, so we are not doing too badly, although it’s all relative and none of it is good, that’s for sure!!

We are to stay at home unless needing to go grocery shopping or for a medical appointment or to a workplace, so it’s meant a huge economic loss as so many businesses have had to shut their doors. Many are struggling and the jury’s still out about what life will look like after all of this is over!

The pants actually have a yellow and a white stripe, which is hard to see in the pics and so they match well with the mustard yellow long sleeved top and jacket …

Hangin’ At Home …

Even though I’m hanging about at home every day I’m still making the effort to dress decently – I was comfortable but also felt it was a cute little outfit.

My days consist of the basics and with the weather starting to turn a bit cooler, wearing pants and some layers was a good fit.

The pieces I’m wearing are all new and all from H&M – the jacket was a nice gift for Valentine’s Day and the top for Christmas, the shirt and shoes are old.

All Things Bright and Beautiful!

I’ve not worn this colour much in recent years, although it was in frequent rotation when I was young and had long black hair. I feel I can wear most vibrant colours so I’m happy to get a couple of pieces in it.

I decided to regard the animal print heels I’ve had for a long time as a neutral and the burnished tone of the print was a good match with the rest of the “infit”!

Homemade pizza is one of my favourite eats along with Date and Apricot Chews below
This delicious buttery delight is to die for … you can see the recipe here https://donnadoesdresses.com/2019/06/04/date-and-apricot-chews/

I’ve been doing plenty of cooking, which is nothing new and have been sure to pray every day for this terrible time to soon be behind us!

I like the way my salt lamp lights up Arch-Angel Michael, always giving me a sense of safety and confidence.

And even though the Ironfest (Steampunk Festival) has been cancelled because of the Virus, I’m still pushing on to get my costume ready for next year and added some fancy bits and pieces to my boots.

Thank you for joining me in my little corner of the web and I’d love to hear how you are spending time in your neck of the woods in the comments below.

Yes, thank The Lord, I am well. I have been remaining isolated, though. I hope you are well, too!

You’re dazzling in mustard yellow, sweet Donna. It is one of my absolute favourite colours of all time (and, interestingly, a few months ago, when my mom asked me what colour I thought I personally looked best in, before I could even answer, my sweet hubby said he thinks it’s mustard – aww!) and a must year-round for my fall time adoring heart (and wardrobe!).

Profoundly devastating as any loss of life is, all things considered, that is objectively an impressively low mortality rate so far. At the time of writing, here in Canada we’ve had/have about 21,000 confirmed cases and just over 500 deaths (with 50 of those being in our province of British Columbia), which unto itself is also not as brutally high a mortality rate as some other parts of the world. Heartbreakingly, I’m sure that number will climb higher before the pandemic finally lets up, but at least, much like in AU, it’s not off-the-charts high (yet?).

Thinking of you, my dear friend, and hoping that you’re able to stay extremely safe, healthy, and well on all fronts.

Big hugs & the happiest of Easter weekend wishes,
    Autumn Zenith 🎃 Witchcrafted Life

Thank you for your kindness, Diane, the isolation orders here have been very strict for quite a while so it’s good to get in and enjoy the simple things like cooking, gardening and sewing! And I’ve definitely been eating too much – these are truly crazy times!! Donna🧚🏻‍♀️❤️🐝
