Animal Print Dress Styled With A Touch Of Tulle!! 🙀🙌🤗🥰

March 25, 2020
My beautiful Sunny Sunflower bringing hope to us all at this challenging time!

Braving The Apocalypse!

It’s lovely to see you and I look forward to sharing a different way of styling an animal print dress that you’ve seen before here, https://donnadoesdresses.com/2020/02/17/different-looks-for-summer🦁🧐🥰/

I love the pockets and versatility of this dress…

In Australia we’ve not long experienced hideous bushfires, which the community is still reeling from, only to have to now deal with the dreaded COVID-19 disease which sees us now in lockdown …

I guess for me the social distancing regulations are not too bad because I’m a bit of an introvert anyway and don’t work outside the home, but my heart goes out to so many because these restrictions have meant huge job losses and then there are so many people unwell world wide so I’ve just tried to put on a post that takes our mind away from all of this, just for a bit, and to show my small joys.

I bought this dress for a fab price but I was actually uncertain whether it would deliver for me.

There were a couple of reasons why I was dubious – it’s a 1970’s look, which is not usually my cup of tea, and it’s quite long and kind of baggy … however; I’ve actually had fun styling it a couple of different ways.

I decided to mix it up a bit with an eighties cropped suede fringe jacket!
Then I unbuttoned it from the bottom and added my black tulle skirt..
And finished with some fishnet stockings and low- heeled booties!

I was actually happy with the end result of this outfit and found that the belt gave the dress greater shape and didn’t overwhelm my petite frame and that it was comfortable, practical and stylish fun!

I plan to put this tulle skirt and tulle petticoats with lots more of my dresses and skirts in the future.

I wonder if you like it as much as I do?

Life In Isolation!!

I’m loving my rock sculptures

I’ve also included some pics of some of the cute things around our place here that we’re enjoying while being told to be as isolated as possible.

We call this little Stone-Henge ..

Making The Best Of Things – and Making Cake!!

We are lucky because we live on 150acres of Australian bush and sub-tropical rainforest so we are not exactly shut in, and thankfully although we had bushfires burning only 200 metres south, east and west of our house we are still standing!

These beautiful marigolds just grew in amongst the rocks!
Caramel Banana Honey Cake!
Dawning of a beautiful new day …

Thank you for joining me in my little corner of the web and I hope that you are able to keep going and find some peace and silver lining out of this terrible crisis that affects the world at this time!!

I appreciate all of your visits to my little blog, enjoy reading your comments and am happy to keep in touch on my Instagram, donnadoesdresses

Crikey. Those bush fires being so close, that is so scary. All of that space to move around in during this time, is so wonderful. I love the tuile skirt with the leopard print; it is fantastic. Or is it the way that you wear it? xxxxx Go well, take care xxx

Thank you for your lovely comment, and you’re absolutely right that we are fortunate to have space at such a time, for which I am grateful every day!! I love just mucking about with my clothes I must say and I’m going to wear tulle with everything I can!! Lol
I went over to your blog but was unable to comment because it appears I have the wrong password … technology hates me! However, I wanted to say that I totally agree with you about not wasting food and aiming for a more authentic and sustainable life!! Loved your post!!

Funny–we just made cake, too! 😀 I write limerick poetry as you know—it keeps me sane—and have today gotten our apartment WiFi up and working. Now I won’t get into trouble trying to use other peoples’ WiFi-! Thank you for helping us know how you folks are handling your–and our mutual—challenges! We love your fashion creativity!

Thank you – yes, your country does look in some dire straights .. looks like Trump got it wrong thinking it was all fake news!! People need to keep their distance and never happier to be living in a remote part of the world!! Enjoy your cake and your wi-fi ..

I love 70’s style and I have t say this is one of my most favourite looks on you donna. I like that the bottom is open to show the black too xx

Oh thank you, Laurie, that means a lot to me and actually I was inspired by your outfits when I bought this dress!! You’ve given me confidence to try something I wouldn’t normally wear!! I like the tulle under the skirt for a bit of fun too!! Hope you’re ok over there, things are a bit grim … hang in there!! 🧚🏻‍♀️❤️🐝

You have really been hit with a lot – between the horrible fires and now this! But you’re fortunate to live in such a beautiful place far from other people so you can at least walk around and not bump into people.

And I LOVE your look today. What a great idea it open over the tulle skirt! That’s just the kind of dress that does layering well, light and flowy. I think you saw me trying something similar with my brushed cotton dress and it just didn’t work.

    Stay safe!

What an engaging, lovely, heartfelt post, sweet Donna. I am sorry beyond measure that Australia has taken such a profound thrashing in recent times. My strength, support and steadfast hope for a brighter, safer, healthier, wild fire-free future are with you and your country around the clock.

We’re lucky that the fires swept past us over the Christmas and can hide out down here … about a 15 minute drive into the little coastal town of Eden and our nearest neighbour lives about 5 kilometres away on one side and then on the other sides it’s all state forest, so we are definitely isolated! We feel very blessed, that’s for sure!! Hope you’re safe where you are – New York sounds to be having a terrible time… please take care!!
