Styling A Fun, Floral Dress!! πŸ§šπŸ»β€β™€οΈβ€οΈπŸ‘—πŸŒ»

Meanwhile Back At the Farm…

Thank you to so many of you who have sent your best wishes and concerns to me about the nasty bushfires that have been ravaging beautiful Australia over the recent weeks.

We had fire on our property here at Eden and it seems to have made a semi circle around the house but stopping about 200-300 metres from the house, so we have been very fortunate indeed!!

The volunteer Rural Fire Service and the State Forestry Corporation were just wonderful in ensuring that there was water-bombing and containment lines put in – it has been very scary and soo smoky …

The temperatures have dropped somewhat and we are now getting the tiniest bit of rain – we have been in drought for many months here and have been having to truck in water because we are on tank water, which is rainwater collected off the roof of the house .. but of course no rain means no water!

It was great to take a breath and be able to relax for a bit so we went on a date night to our favourite restaurant at the close beachside township of Merimbula for dinner.

Dark, Floral Delight!

I’ve owned this dress from the British @theprettydresscompany for years and, like so many of you who read this blog, I wish to be far more sustainable and actually get wear from what’s in my wardrobe, rather than rushing out and buying new stuff all the time!

It’s a gorgeous retro style bodycon, v-crossover neckline dress with sweet half sleeves.

The material is soft, though has a good weight to keep your shape and has a nice stretch for comfort.

I love the little tie at the waist which emphasises one of the best parts of this old bod!!

Heat and Hair!!

I love wearing my hair out and long because it goes with the feminine overall look that I embrace but lately it’s just been so hot and humid that most days I’ve been wearing it up in a messy bun!

It was good to wear it down and feel a bit tizzy and pretty for our evening out.

I felt these little sparkly, sling-back heels added a bit of glamour, as did my antique evening bag, necklace and a few pretty bracelets.

New Year/New Decade Resolutions…

I’ve kept them simple – they’re all about self-love and giving myself that which I have given to others in a lifetime career where my efforts were not appreciated anywhere near enough by my employer.

I have left that time behind, along with the ill-health that stemmed from it and now wholeheartedly embrace Donny-time, where I pursue what sparks joy for me!! Some of those things has been reacquainting myself with reading, yoga and being immersed in nature, oh and of course our beekeeping business, Purple Sting – and this is going to be my goal for the year and for the decade … finding joy and love in the simplest of things!!

Thank you for joining me in my little corner of the web and I would love to hear your thoughts on sustainability and resolutions or any number of things!! You can keep up with me on Instagram too, a platform that has brought a great deal of joy to me!

Thank you for your kind and caring comment, dear Mica!! It’s been a real jolt to the new year but we’re grateful that we’ve survived and that our bees are ok, because we really want to make a go of that business this year!
We’ve had a bit of rain and the border fire is now being better controlled so thank god for that!!
I will have a look at your blog, of course and I’m glad you had fun at the theme park, it’s good catching up with family although good when they head home too! Lol!
Have a wonderful week and take care!

Oh thank you, dear Michelle!! You’re very kind in your comments!! Yes, these fires are an ongoing worry – and we are a,ways in hyper alert … sorry I haven’t been going on hour linkups lately but it won’t let me in for some reason.. annoying!! Anyway, have a wonderful weekend- it’s Australia Day here but there’s a lot of issue with our First Nations people so we keep it low key.πŸ§šπŸ»β€β™€οΈβ€οΈπŸ
