Pale Pink and Me…
I’ve written in the past that I’m not a big fan of pale pink on me as it tends to wash me out, and I just have a crazy preference for vibrant and bright colours.
I’ve been gradually picking myself up since the surgery two months ago and wanted to get summer ready so put on some fake tan and a pretty new dress and I was pretty happy with the result.
I used to steer clear of larger prints but they do seem to be everywhere here for the summer and I quite liked the placement of these stunning flowers and leaves on this lovely dress.
Comfort and a Nice Shape…
I love this dress, which is quite similar to the one I posted last week, Here, which is v-neckline, cinched waistline, fitted around the hips, with a little pleat across the tummy that is pretty, flattering and comfy!
It’s also roomy across the back and has pretty, fluttery sleeves.
I really love these roomy, cool and airy sleeves as they are perfect for taking the pressure of my Lymphedema arm, which has been giving me some problems of late.
I’ve found that a tight pressure sleeve when it starts to get sore and tingly and also avoiding salty foods and alcohol assists in improving the swelling.
Last week I was determined to get back into my fairly rigorous exercise routine but alas the arm played up and I realise that I need to progress much more slowly, so I’ve reduced the weights and reps for now and have picked up some yoga again.
My mother’s thoughts about ageing was that you don’t want to look like an old woman before your time, so look after your posture and flexibility!
I believe she was right as I noticed I’d been walking with a stiff gait and that I’d been favouring my chest and not standing up straight in recent months. I know the yoga and other stretches I’m doing will help return all of that to balance, and I’m not taking anything for granted anymore!!
Pretty Little Things..
I added my wide, woven belt, little round woven bag, my unbelievably comfortable espadrille wedges which I could walk around in all day, my drop pink earrings, some little bracelets and my tortoiseshell sunnies.
These, along with the fake tan made the look great for a warm evening out for some bubbly and some Arabic food – fun times!!
Fun Fact!! I’m not an Ambi-turner!!
All my life I’ve tended to the left … whenever I walk out of a shop or a building I always turn left – even when I’m supposed to go right!!
I also seem to only be able to take my photos from the left – the ones I take from the right are always hideous! It’s so strange!!
John laughs because I’ve always done this plus I’m left handed, I always park to the left in the mall not to the right and my politics have always been distinctly left of centre … anyway I just thought I’d share!!
Thank you for joining me in my little corner of the web!!

November 22, 2019 at 12:03 pmI am going to have to start paying attention to which way I turn, lol! Gorgeous as always: that is a pretty dress and adding that belt was just the right extra touch! Cutting coffee and some of my sugars this week… helping my moods and energy levels but getting some headaches. Hope to stay strong during the Thanksgiving break!

November 22, 2019 at 7:58 pmThank you, Mireille – yes it was my partner and kids that brought the turning left thing to my attention… funny isnβt it? You know I always loved my coffee – couldnβt start the day without one, but since I got cancer last year I just lost the taste for it and now I only drink tea with the occasional cappuccino. I donβt miss it so much but I find it hard to do without the sugar although again when I found out I had cancer, I stopped sugar straight away as all my research found that it feeds cancer cells so good on you eliminating it!! I do have it now though and could do with having less … easy to say!! Enjoy your Thanksgiving – we donβt have that here.

November 26, 2019 at 5:42 pmDonna, this dress is absolutely gorgeous! I am getting all sorts of traditional kimono vibes from it. And I think the pale pink looks wonderful on you (I guess your tan has helped with the coloring). And hey, it’s okay to sway a little left…it’s better than being straight down the center, I think!
