Something A Bit Different…
I was very excited to buy this floral dress from @littlepartydress because I thought it would look great styled a bit differently.
The floral print had an Oriental vibe to me and I thought that I could take that vibe further with the way I styled it.
The beautiful colours of the flower print – orangey red, yellow and pink with the green of the stems and leaves is vibrant and uplifting and immediately made me feel totally spring and almost summer!!
Although long sleeved and quite long, the material of the dress is light so it’s perfect for this time of year and doesn’t overwhelm my petite frame.
Kimono Style and Splits…
As can be see from the pics it is a kimono style dress with perfect v-neck that is flattering without being too revealing and the split up the front is likewise.
I did find that the front split seam was a little weak so after a single wearing I needed to reinforce the stitching …
The long sleeves are perfect for protection from the sun and are roomy (accomodating my Lymphedema) and they have a delightful, feminine little split from the wrist to the elbow.
Making Fun and Pretty Choices!
We have every respect for the Japanese culture and have adopted different aspects of it in our life by creating a ‘Zen Garden’ space in our home in Eden.
We also enjoy Japanese food.
I put my hair up with chopsticks and wore a wide belt and rice-paper parasol to channel the Japanese vibe.
Pretty glass earrings, red block heels, tortoiseshell cat’s eye sunnies and a blingy bracelet completed the look.
Funny Story…
I took these pics before I went out:
And you can see I’d forgotten to remove the label!! Luckily I noticed it early on when taking my photos!! Aah! Fun times!
Have you gone out in something new and forgotten to remove labels – and here’s me always saying I’m a details person!!
Thank you for joining me in my little corner of the web and I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!!

November 26, 2019 at 5:46 pmDonna, I absolutely love this dress and the Japanese feel to it. I also love to wear chopsticks in my hair and find that when I wear something Japanese inspired, I almost always opt for hair sticks! I love the colors on this dress and your gorgeous parasol. Just beautiful, my friend. Thanks for linking up.
