Styling a Khaki Skirt!πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€—πŸ₯°

Khaki or Olive Green?

I’m never quite sure whether to call the colour of the skirt I’m wearing in this post khaki or olive?

Anyway, here it is and you can feel free to tell me what you’d call it!!

I’m still feeling pretty unwell and today found out the results of the serum test they took from the reconstruction site last week and I have an infection so I’m on huge horse tablet antibiotics and hopefully will be on the mend!

Honestly, you must be as bored of hearing about it as I am living through it – although as Mum would say “This too shall pass ..”

In other news, I’ve worn a similar coloured skirt, which is probable more flattering but not quite as much fun and it’s featured on the blog before https://donnadoesdresses.com/2019/09/28/styling-a-camo-jacket-πŸ™€πŸ₯°πŸ˜Έ/

Thankfully, we are seeing some warmer weather here but I felt that a jacket was required over the tank top I was wearing with the skirt.

Cord-Waist and Some Colour!

The skirt was quite an unusual style, which is what attracted me to it.

It’s a maxi length but is made shorter with little tabs on the side, which I like because it makes the skirt a bit steampunk, industrial, utility – which is a look I rather favour!

I can also choose to leave the tabs undone and wear the skirt long or just one side up – you get the idea … plus it has pockets!! I must say though that I love the way the fabric gives beautiful folds when it is hitched up!

Today was the first time I’ve been out and about in days and I went into the little town of Pambula for some reiki, crystal and chakra healing from the beautiful Tina of @hraani.spirit so I wanted to add some brightness to the outfit.

The funky little jacket achieved the brightness, along with my turquoise necklace and a sheer scarf used as a headband.

Making It Work!

I’m really not sure whether I have made this particular outfit work … the skirt is a little big and a little too long for my petite frame – because I didn’t feel well when I was shopping and didn’t try it on and didn’t want to mess around exchanging it … so I may donate it to my daughter who is tall, I don’t know yet!

I’ve always been the queen of monochromatic dressing and today I’ve styled it with a similar coloured top and even had on a similar coloured jacket Here but felt I needed brightening up, so I went with the print jacket.

I liked these tortoiseshell sunnies, my wooden bangle, long cross, black sandals – although may have preferred nude – and cross-body bag and to finish the look off so that it ended up being a more is more look I added my crazy peacock feather earrings!! Hopefully you can see them somewhat in the following pic:

This is a unusual skirt and I love it! I would say that it is khaki, but those colors are changing on the sunlight, so who knows. o) I hope that you are feeling better now. Thank you for sharing your post with My Red Carpet and have a nice weekend.

Donna, I love this skirt! The cool pull up detail on the sides is a little bit steampunk and cool and edgy. So cute with the floral jacket, too. I am so sorry that you are still feeling unwell. Sending lots of healing energy your way! And I think I would call this color olive. I think of khaki as a lighter tan. But that’s just my eyes! Thanks for linking up.

Oh thank you for all of your kind good wishes – I will happily take them all!! Yes – I think I agree regarding the colour as olive and also about the steampunk thing, a style and fashion we love to enjoy from time to time!! Have a great weekend, Shelbee!! πŸ§šπŸ»β€β™€οΈβ€οΈπŸ
