Keeping It Simple!
I had to get going in a hurry the other day so decided my best option was to keep it simple with an old, comfortable black dress and a ponytail.
Nothing earth-shattering, I know!!
Alas!! Even though I was feeling tired, still swollen and generally blah because I had to go to yet another Doctor’s appointment and I’m over not feeling my usual self, I couldn’t leave it at all black!
The dress I’ve owned since 2013, but the shoes are new – and in fact I find myself gravitating more towards buying new accessories because I already have plenty of perfectly acceptable dresses … although don’t hold me to that!! Lol!
What surprised me about this outfit was that so many people seemed to really like it on Instagram and yet there’s not a lot to it!!
Hanging In There!
After slipping into this little black dress, with the half sleeves that are nice and forgiving and easily accommodate my swollen arms from the recent surgery, I felt that it needed a little something extra.
I would often opt for red with the black, to give the dress and my mood a bit of a lift, but I decided instead to put some animal print in the mix!!
Lifting The Game!
I made a tie from my old long soft leopard print scarf for my neck and added my leopard sandals, wooden bag, wooden bangle, old lespecs sunnies, gold alien earrings and my bee brooch, to finish the outfit.
Hair and makeup were kept to a minimum …
I know this too shall pass, but it seems like it’s been such a long road getting to this point and beyond although I continue to have lots of support!
