For the Love of Red!! β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈπ€·ββοΈ
I’m not sure when it started, but I seem to have always loved red as a colour for my clothing.
I love the energy it brings to me and to those around me when I wear it.
And energy is what was needed when I wore this red suit yesterday!
Yesterday we headed up to Sydney – a bit over an hours drive north for me to get my stitches out following the breast reconstruction surgery from last week.
I’ve been wearing a bit of red … Red and Navy Dressing and Vintage Red and I haven’t felt particularly great so it’s been easy to follow the Doctor’s advice of resting, but I was glad to be getting a bit dressed up and that I would be out of the house for a few hours.
I have a very high pain threshold and have avoided taking medications for any discomfort, but I’ve been really tired and washed out, so I’ve just been schlepping around in pjs and lounge wear flopping from bed to the lounge and back again!!
Something About the Light!
I’ve talked before about how sunny it is here on the south east coast of Australia – more than 300 days a year – and that we are in constant drought … there’s also the difficult matter of trying to get decent photos.
Some of these were taken before 8am and are very over-exposed because it was just so sunny and this decking attached to our apartment is north facing – ideal for the Southern Hemisphere – and is sunny all day, just about all year round!
I did what I could and then took some other pics in another spot on the decking when we returned home.
Unfortunately, my Doctor wants me to keep resting because there’s still a huge amount of bruising and swelling – I think even my nose is swollen, or maybe I’ve gained some weight, but either way it’s hard adjusting to myself at the moment and I feel that this is the next part of the healing process to give the patience and kindness to myself that I’ve always shown to others!
Work in progress!!
Embroidery, Brooches and All That!
I couldn’t resist wearing these cute Mary-Jane heels again because they’re not only super comfy, but their delightful embroidery is just so feminine and fun!
I found these adorable red heart earrings recently with little pearls and they were perfect with this outfit.
You will notice that I had a cute strawberry brooch in my earlier pics but not in the later ones as I had started to take the outfit off when the whim came to take a few more photos in the hope of getting better ones – and I much prefer the blazer with the strawberry … what do you think?
I love the stitching details on this skirt and the nice weight of the fabric of both the skirt and the blazer make the suit sit well.
I’ve owned it for some years and always enjoyed wearing it for meetings where I wanted people to pay attention and not daydream!!
On the way home we stopped for coffee and a bite to eat at the lookout centre at the top of the “mountain” taking you down from Sydney to the Illawarra and Wollongong.
The view out across the Pacific Ocean and right down the coast was just so beautiful and clear, it made me feel grateful I no longer live in ‘the big smoke’, but that we’re still close enough to visit!
Anyway, thank you for joining me for my ramble in red, in my little corner of the web!

Surrender is the word that my healers have been talking about all year – you really do get it!! I know that resting is best for my well-being in the long-run! I very much appreciate your support, Nancy – itβs a bit of a tough road at the moment! π§π»ββοΈβ€οΈπ
