Showing Your Stripes!!
I love red. I love navy. I love stripes. And I love retro!
I love this midi red skirt for its simplicity, comfort and versatility.
I’ve worn it to work with a blazer or a leather jacket – always a favourite – but it can also do double duty for a cute after hours look.
Fever London … and all that!
A few years ago there were a couple of cute boutiques that stocked Fever London designs and it was from one of these that I scored this top – I rarely shop online because I like to feel the fabric and try the clothing on before I decide to buy … I’m afraid I’m a dying breed!!
I do like the Fever London brand but I always have to get their dresses tailored because I’m very particular about the fit.
I didn’t get this top altered but just wore a belt to cinch in the waist!
I don’t wear the top that often because I have mixed feelings about it – I love the colours and the peplum, but I’m not sure if the stripes are a bit unflattering, however; I pushed through and I was quite happy with this look.
I think this skirt makes the top work, if that makes sense…
Hit Me With the Added Extras!!
These outfit photos were taken about three weeks ago when we were down at the farm in Eden before I had my surgery, but spring was already very much in the air.
The red fishnet stockings added some texture, colour and interest to the outfit without being too warm and they were also what I wanted to give that retro vibe.
The little bow on the top is cute – but again I’m never completely certain whether I like it …
The regulation sunnies, a few bracelets, red patent belt, navy suede shoes and navy beret completed the look.
I also fiddled around with my hair and added a thick braid down the front, because I’m really liking the long messy hair look as we go into summer and I’m also paying homage to the end of The Game of Thrones …
Thank you for joining me in my little corner of the web!
I’ve enjoyed sharing my love of eclectic fashion and the retro style with you, the mix of old with newer and just the fact that we don’t have to pigeon hole ourselves in a particular way – well I don’t think we do anyway!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on wearing red, retro, stripes or pigeon holing in the comments below or leave a like a follow for more edifying conversations!! Lol!
