Denim and Studs – what’s not to like?
I’ve always loved denim dresses – unlike denim jeans, which I generally find uncomfortable, denim dresses seem to always feel good and I think they look good too!!
We are back in Wollongong for a month to attend to some business – I also have to get some reconstructive surgery following my breast cancer and mastectomy last year.. I will be glad when it’s over and I will tell you more about that in a later post!
I’ve shown you this dress styled as a jacket here https://donnadoesdresses.com/2019/08/19/how-i-wear-jeans-and-a-denim-dress-π₯°π€πͺπΈ/
The weather was decidedly springy so I decided to get my legs out in this dress.
I love the press-stud closure of the dress which makes it super easy and fun to get in and out of!!
It’s from Australian brand, A Country Road and it is a classic A-line that is neat and feminine.
Dark, Indigo all the way …
I love the dark indigo denim on me – blue is a great colour on me – and this was no exception!!
It fit well on the waist and over the hips but was a bit tight across the bust so I undid that button and wore a camisole under it – to size up would’ve made the dress too oversized and I don’t like that!! A more flattening bra could’ve resolved this issue too… although it may actually be that I’m fairly broad across the shoulders from years of swimming every morning before school ( life in Australia ) and I still do quite a few pushups …
Tie Me Up!!
The waist tie is a good option because you can tie it at the back as I did when wearing it as a jacket, which gave it more shape, or as a loose tie or bow.
I just added my black and white ocelot print block heels, my chunky black floral choker, quartz bracelet, black sunnies and hair up in a ponytail for this look …
Oh!! And I turned up the collar for extra oomph!!
Thank you soo much for joining me in my little corner of the web!!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on denim dresses, stud buttons, breast cancer and wearing what you like in the comments below or leave a like or follow to share more of my fashion and lifestyle journey!

September 8, 2019 at 9:08 amYes, I had breast cancer, which is why I post lingerie photos from time to time – not for men to ogle or make other women threatened – but to promote the concept of self love and loving the body weβve been given. The other issue is that the first reconstruction was botched so I am getting a revision by another surgeon so itβs all a bit harrowing!!
Thank you – itβs a great dress!! Thank you for your comment!
