Coat-Dress Dream 😻🀩πŸ₯°πŸ’―πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

Wearing It Well…

Warning: There are a couple of lingerie pictures at the end of the article, so if that offends then best stop reading …

I like to get wear out of my pretty clothes.

With that in mind I’m being careful about my purchases to ensure I get things that are going to get wear while giving me a kick doing so and that I collect pieces that are special and significant.

This dress surely fits this bill and when I spied it when we attended the Winter Magic Festival up in The Blue Mountains, west of Sydney a month ago, I knew it has to be mine!!

To the actual festival I wore a Steampunk costume:

Time To Shop!

There was an opportunity to shop and spend some money in the community.

In a little village called Leura there are heaps of cute shops.

I was attracted to the unusual print of the dress.

The print is of Australian native flowers, particular to The Blue Mountains, which makes the dress particularly unusual and more attractive to me.

It turns out the designer is a local artist who had the fabric especially made, the idea of which I just love!! It is not going to be a fabric that I will see on everyone, and not everyone would like it but it suits my eclectic and statement making aesthetic.

Inside Story!!

The photos for today’s post are in my kitchen because we are in the midst of winter and although very sunny outside, it’s crazy windy!!

Back to the dress; I love the muted greens, burgundy and red set against the black background, making the dress versatile and able to be worn a number of different ways.

I chose to wear burgundy lace tights, red sunnies and burgundy booties with it to go out to lunch.

All Buttoned Up!

Cute, wooden buttons close up the front of the dress and their placement, slightly off-centre, is pretty and contemporary.

I am of course also loving the pockets and the darting in the back to give it a fitted and feminine shape.

And Then Unbuttoned!!

Being a matchy, matchy person I like my underthings to match my outer wear.

So with this outfit I wore my black and burgundy lingerie set.

I want to feel good about myself from the inside out and continue to embrace my feminine and sexy side and encourage others to do the same!

Thank you for joining me in my little corner of the web and I’d love to hear from you in the comments below or leave a like or follow,

Thank you so much, Laurie – the dress was a real find and the boots belonged to me son’s girlfriend but were too small for her so she gave them to me and I’ve been wearing them to death this winter!

This coat dress is very pretty and interesting. The dark green background for the floral print is so unexpected and a great alternative to the usual navy or black background of floral winter dresses. What’s so special about this dress is that it has a very tailored – read non-romantic – cut. Thus, one looks serious and not naive.

Thank you very much for your kind comment t, Nicole!! The background colour of this dress is actually black but the other colours in the print enable different combinations. The cut is reminiscent of the coats men wore in the 17th century, which I love so that it is as you say, tailored and serious. And I just lo e those Australian native flowers – again non-romantic!! Have a great weekend, Nicole and thank you for running the link-in! Donna πŸ§šπŸ»β€β™€οΈβ€οΈπŸ™
