Ultimate Flower Power!
I am participating in the linkup with A Pocketful of Polkadots http://www.apocketfulofpolkadots.com/2019/04/navy-floral-sage-green/
I’m a big believer in the fact that colour influences emotions and so when the rain is falling – which we love because it occurs so rarely in Australia – I want to wear a dress that’s going to lift my mood and brighten everyone’s day!
And they call it Poppy Love ..
This dress is a stunner, it’s a hot pink/magenta and red with black at the centre of the poppies.
It’s made from a crushed satin taffetta and washes well by hand.
I like the three quarter sleeves and the longer skirt length which could house a small petticoat…
A Little Bit Here and a Little Bit There …
I’ve worn this stunning dress with pink sandals … but this rainy day called for a closed in shoe and I was feeling in a “red” mood!!
I was also happy to be able to co-ordinate my beautiful pink and black brolly and my pink wicker basket with the outfit!
Adding a pink scarf around the head, chunky black floral necklace and red sunglasses completed the look!
The Significance of the Poppy..
My mother was born in Scotland and her father fought in World War One and she often spoke of the poppies in Flanders that were red after the war from the blood of the fallen soldiers, so the story goes.
Of course, we also wear the poppy on our lapel at Remembrance Day on the 11th November every year.
Gratitude for the peace that we have in Australia and thank you to those who have fought for the wonderful life we have in this country.
Getting it Right from the Inside Out!
I’m a matchy matchy person so I wanted my underthings to match my beautiful dress and wore my red bodysuit.
I find this type of lingerie convenient, comfortable and sensuous, keeping me in touch with my inner goddess.
I was so afraid I would lose my femininity when I found the breast cancer last year so I make sure never to take it for granted any more!!
Enjoy your weekend and thank you for popping into my little corner of the web,
