Striping me Lucky!!
I have always loved classic prints.
Spots, animal print, florals and of course stripes.
I’ve certainly earned my stripes with this simple little dress.
It fits like a glove…
Sizing It Up:
I bought this up a size because I really didn’t want it to be squeezie … even though I prefer fitted clothing to loose stuff.
I find that fitted clothing keeps me honest – food wise!!
Not being a fan of dieting but liking to keep a certain shape means that when something feels a little tight then it’s time to stop eating lol!
That being said, I am no spring chicken, so felt good that I sized up to give myself some “grace” shall we say?
To Stripe or not to Stripe, that is the Question!!
There’s a lot said here and there about stripes and the effect they have on our figure.
I have to say with this dress having different sized stripes and different coloured stripes, it works in my figure’s favour!
Covering It Up!
Now I know I’m always banging on about the sun in Australia and the depleted ozone layer but it is a real problem for we gingers who burn in five minutes flat here!
We went to Europe a couple of years ago and I didn’t have a hat while we were on a bus ride around Paris at the end of summer and I was so worried that I would be burnt to a crisp – but yet nothing!!
If that was here I would’ve been verging on third degree burns!!
Thus, even when it is hot, like it was today where I had to go out and vote and do a couple of other things, I prefer to cover up – plus I just think it looks nice and classy and finished!
This little blouse was perfect for a light cover up for the brief amount of time I was exposed to the beating sun …
Little Added Extras
I added these angel wing earrings that I bought in Hobart a couple of years ago – they’re handmade from metal and are solid and gorgeous and I love that they match the green in the dress.
I also added a green ocean glass necklace from out of Eden …
And a wrist full of bracelets, black satin ribbon to hold my hair back, white sandals and black sunnies!!
I was excited to add this beautiful embroidered cross-body bag gifted to me by the delightful Eva from Eva Ladies Boutique in Melbourne.
Thank you for joining me in my little corner of the web!!
