Dressing Sustainably!! πŸ€”πŸ‘—πŸ˜»πŸ§πŸ™€

Dressing to Impress …

I love pretty clothes.

I also love quality clothes – not #fastfashion!

Time and Again!

As part of my engagement with sustainability there are particular shops that I frequent.

One such shop is in Wollongong and is called The Classy Closet and they stock the loveliest things – all designer and second-hand.

I’ve featured other things I’ve bought from this shop in earlier posts Feeling a bit blue … Recycle, Reuse, Reduce …, Changing the look: Accessories …, Salvaging the Past …,Wearing what you like …, Wearing monochrome … and how I do it!

Effortless Styling??? Really??

I’m also not going to lie, I’m not really into the effortless style thing.

I have a theory that effortless styling doesn’t really exist, anymore than natural beauty… anyway

Just the same I have to say that this dress is as close as any that I own to show such “effortless style”.

The dress is a popover and is made of 100% pure silk and it feels so gorgeous on – these photos were taken on a pretty hot day in sunny Australia, but I felt cool and comfortable in this beautiful, natural fabric.

The print is black and grey shapes on a white background – when I posted a picture of me in it on Instagram one of my followers said that this was a 1920s print, which I think is just lovely.

The dress is a classic A-line and the sides have sweet splits to allow for movement when you walk – I just love that feeling of swishing skirts!!

This split detail is repeated on the cuff of the sleeves and once again that sense of swishy, elegant and effortless style comes to mind!

Ready To Go…

Heading out I paired the dress with striped black and white heels and a vintage black handbag I sourced from a secondhand shop in the next suburb over…

I also wore my plain black sunglasses and it all tied together with the satin ribbon that runs right round the waistline.

Love Me Some Details …

The cutout details on the neckline are a sweet detail that add a bit more interest to the simple style of this dress.

I felt really lucky to find this sweet little tidbit last week and intend to get plenty of wear out of it over the summer!!

Do you like to shop in alternative places for your clothing? Or even for other things too – as I love to source furnishings and so on from such places as well!!

Thank you for joining me in my little corner of the web today and please share what you think about fast fashion, effortless style or anything else raised here …
