Check Me Out Dress!!

I joined the linkin with Ada on eleganceandmommyhood.blogspot.com and Elsie on polishedwhimsy …

When You Mean Business!!

This dress from Review Australia was perfect for a day when I had appointments to attend where I wanted to be taken seriously.

With a classic black and white gingham/check bodice teamed with a simple black pencil skirt this dress is perfect for my hourglass shape.

The dress was not gifted to me and all opinions are my own.

I’ve teamed it with red and black Mary-Jane shoes and a cute bow red belt.

Changing the Fit:

I tend to find that most dresses are not as fitted around the hips and thighs as I would like.

I have a seamstress who I have been working with for about 15 years and she works her magic making sure that my dresses fit just right!

Capped Sleeves and Cuteness:

I like the little extended shoulder or cute little cap sleeve.

When I went out today, however, I wore a little red shrug to protect my skin from the strong Australian summer sun.

Seriously, how sweet is the little bow on the neckline?

It is these details that make the dresses from Review so attractive.

I’ve repeated the bow motif from the detail on the collar into the belt buckle and I feel this adds to the cuteness, but if you wanted to be more conservative you could just stick to a plain belt in black, red or an alternative colour.

Thank you for joining me in my little corner of the web and I’d love to hear from you in the comments section or leave a like or follow …

  1. This is a very cute dress and it fits you so nicely. It’s a great idea to use a seamstress to get a custom fit. I don’t do that nearly enough, although I do make modifications on my own.

    • Yes!! If only I could see – I have bought a sewing machine and have been using it for craft work like quilting but I’m just not confident using it on my clothing!! I should get some lessons … cooking was always my stronger suit! Thank you for your lovely comment!! Donna πŸ§šπŸ»β€β™€οΈβ€οΈπŸ™
