A Beautiful Gift!
I have surprised myself this year by engaging with social media.
My daughter and her lovely wife visited us in Wollongong from Sydney over Easter and set me up with an instagram account and took the first steps to make this blog, although I didn’t get the blog happening until well into July.
It was after Easter that I was diagnosed with the breast cancer and as the rush of surgeries and Doctors visits ensued I delved into my Instagram as a way of managing the surge of feelings.
I was blown away by the incredible social media community of Instagram, where so many people were prepared and happy to give support and positive feedback to me, even though I was a complete stranger and often from halfway across the world or the country!
This was exactly what I needed at this time – support, encouragement and positive feedback for something I’ve always enjoyed, which is my style.
A Very Different Scenario …
This support was the universe delivering just what I needed, when I needed it and it was quite different from the life I’d led in a profession that took all it could from me and returned as little as possible.
And now that time is over and those people are well and truly left behind, which is such an incredible blessing!!
A Gift Heaven Sent!
I had only just come out of hospital from the mastectomy surgery when I heard from the lovely Eva from @evaladiesboutique in Northcote Street, Melbourne, and she insisted on gifting me this beautiful @retrospec’d dress.
Now I have never met Eva, although I plan to visit Melbourne and her shop, as soon as I can organise someone to take care of my fur babies…
So much kindness and generosity!!
And so appreciated!!
In Retrospect…
The dress is by Australian designer, Retrospec’d and the fabric is a gorgeous print and lovely weight.
It easily takes a full tulle petticoat or looks very pretty without a petticoat.
I’ve worn it here with a cute pair of two-tone, low heels that have an almond-shaped toe, which is pretty, flattering and comfortable.
Otherwise, I kept everything simple as the red and black colours have enough drama!
The Final Word!!
Thank you for visiting my little corner of the web and once again thank you to dear Eva from @evaladiesboutique, a very special soul indeed, for this beautiful dress!!

January 15, 2019 at 11:15 pmActually I work hard to keep down the amount of sugar in my diet and the fact that only wholemeal ingredients is used also helps with blood sugar levels. My cakes probably have half the sugar and instead of icing/topping you can use some butter … I do have some good recipes for things like vegetable and cheese tart, curry pie and green curry chicken stir fry but I forget to take pics to be able to write the article. I’m learning a new camera and my son and his girlfriend bought me some studio lights because they want me to vlog so that might happen and then I can take people through step by step…Donna 🧚🏻♀️❤️🙏
