Sharing Our Apartment Bedroom..
We spend part of each month at our small apartment in Wollongong, New South Wales, and the rest of the time at our farmhouse in Eden, New South Wales.
We love both places and enjoy keeping the home fires burning in each of them.
The apartment is “cosy”, as is the bedroom.
It has a beautiful northern aspect, which being in the Southern Hemisphere, is ideal.
Farmhouse Style:
I’ve always loved the farmhouse style in my home and even though we live in a modern apartment I’ve still tailored the look of the various spaces with a homey, cosy farmhouse vibe.
So I guess to me that translates as quilts, throws, cushions, antique vases and even the special soft toy here and there – this little Mousey has been company for me while I’ve been recovering from breast cancer treatments.
Also these little guys:
Getting panelled:
We’ve given the boring gyprock walls of this small space some character with the addition of antique white painted panelling up to the daddo rail.
Above the wall-panelling we’ve painted the walls a soft, pale grey.
Featuring the bed:
It was thought that the space behind the bed was a bit dull so we added a panel of a gorgeous wallpaper as a feature and it worked really well!
Using the colours from this beautiful, delicate print we’ve teamed the bed with navy, white, grey and a strong mint.
Things are warming up as we move into Spring in Australia, so we will soon be changing the bedding up, but for the moment we are sticking with this quilt and the existing throw and cushions.
We’ve teamed the traditional style brass but chrome bed with a low-boy and a tall-boy in mirror finish.
Added to this are a couple of cute white, distressed stools as bedside tables, a mirror either side of the bed in my favourite arch shape and a couple of other bibs and bobs here and there …
A Hygge Space:
I love this “hygge” space:
It’s nice to have a bit of greenery to increase our wellness:
It is a place of peace and comfort despite its small size – a place to sleep, love, read and enjoy a cosy cup of tea on a Sunday, in bed!
These Furbabies don’t mind coming in for a snuggle every chance they get:
I hope you’ve enjoyed my little home tour of my bedroom and I thank you for visiting my little corner of the web and if you would like to leave a comment, like or follow that would be great!
Enjoy the rest of your week!
