I like getting multiple looks out of an item of clothing, as much for a challenge as for any other reason …
Enter: accessories – you know, things like shoes, scarves, jackets, coats, hats, jewellery, tights/stockings, belts … ad nauseum.
I’m going to show you the same dress with different accessories as a way of truly changing the character and style of the outfit to enable greater versatility and a variety of options.
Outfits can be conservative or edgy, depending on your requirements – the main outfit pictured here is a skirt and top with a contemporary pattern.
The pattern, with a black background, enables the more conservative dressers amongst us to wear black hose/tights or skin tone and black shoes or boots.
I prefer to go the route of adding a bit of colour to a dull winter’s day by wearing coloured tights and jackets.
With this skirt and top I’ve paired nutmeg tights with brown lace-up shoes, chocolate tights with the new higher length brown boots and plum tights with brown buckled booties.
Once again, using the colours from the pattern, I changed it up with the jackets/coats I selected – the caramel coat, pleather jacket with the fur collar, the plum jacket … the possibilities are pretty extensive, you just have to give a bit of thought to it and to what you have in your wardrobe that you can use, because it’s always fun to ‘shop your closet’!
Thank you so much for stopping by,
